Receipt printers, scanners and drawers

The platform runs in a browser, so it works on a desktop, tablet or phone. Hardware attaches in one of two ways.

Barcode scanners

A standard USB or Bluetooth scanner behaves like a keyboard. Scanned codes are looked up as product barcodes.

Card terminals

A Square Terminal is paired to a store through the Square integration and driven from the POS. Stripe needs no terminal at all — card details are entered into its hosted element. Any other terminal is used independently: take the payment on it, then record the tender.

Receipt printers and cash drawers

Receipts print through the browser's print dialog, so any printer the machine can print to will work. Drawers that open from a printer follow the same path.
