Invoice numbering

Number sequences, prefixes per store, and why numbers are never reused.

Every invoice carries an invoice number assigned when it is created. Numbers are not reused, so a number always identifies one document.

The supplier details that appear on the invoice — your business identity — are frozen onto the invoice when it is issued. Changing your company profile later does not rewrite documents you have already sent, which is what keeps an issued tax invoice a stable record.
