Backups and data retention

Backup cadence, restore expectations and how long records are kept.

Backups run on a schedule. Each one is compressed and encrypted, and can be verified — a backup that cannot be verified is worth knowing about before you need it rather than after.

Old backups are pruned to a configured number kept, so storage does not grow without bound. Backup status is reportable, so "when did one last succeed?" has an answer.

For a copy you hold yourself, take a full data export. See Data and privacy.
