Adding customers
Creating customer records, and why searching first is the only duplicate protection there is.
Customers can be created at the counter while ringing up a sale, or directly in CRM. There is no merge tool: two records for the same person stay two records.
The practical consequence is worth knowing — searching for an existing customer before creating a new one is the only duplicate protection there is.
