Stocktake
Running a full or rolling count, reviewing variance and posting adjustments.
A stocktake compares what you count against what the system believes, then books the difference. Each counted line records the system quantity, the counted quantity and the variance between them.
Reviewing a stocktake
A completed stocktake can be opened again to see every line, and it carries a count of how many lines actually differed — so a stocktake where nothing moved is distinguishable at a glance from one that found real drift.
Committing is a manager action
Committing overwrites counted quantities and books the variance, so it requires inventory.stocktake — supervisor and above by default. Counted quantities are validated as whole numbers, the same as adjustments.
