Device intake and photos

Recording condition with photos and notes so pickup disputes do not happen.

Photos are attached to a ticket at intake. Up to 20 per ticket, and each may be up to 5 MB — the limit the upload screen advertises and the one the server actually applies.

Photos are optional

Nothing forces a photo. A ticket can be created without one, so photographing every device at the counter is a habit to enforce yourself, not a rule the software applies.

If an upload fails

A photo that is too large is rejected with a message telling you to try a smaller one or reduce the camera resolution. This used to fail badly: the screen promised 5 MB while a 1 MB request cap rejected anything larger first, so a photo of a cracked screen would vanish with no explanation. The cap now sits above the advertised limit, and the failure gives a reason.

The rest of intake

Alongside photos, the ticket records the device — brand, model, generation, colour, IMEI, the device's own phone number and its passcode — plus a condition checklist completed at intake. There is a matching post-repair checklist for handover, so the state before and after are both recorded.
