Online bookings
Customers book a drop-off time from your own website, and the booking lands in a Bookings tab you work through.
Online bookings let a customer pick a drop-off time on your own website instead of ringing up. You paste a small snippet onto your site; the booking page itself is hosted here, at a private address carrying your shop's booking link. Setting it up is covered in Set up the booking widget.
The Bookings tab
Bookings arrive in a Bookings tab inside Repairs, grouped by day. The tab carries a badge counting the bookings still waiting on someone, so an unanswered request is visible without opening the tab.
The five statuses
| Status | Means |
|---|---|
| Pending | Just came in. Nobody has looked at it yet. |
| Confirmed | Staff have acknowledged it. |
| Cancelled | Called off — either by you, or by the customer through the link in their email. |
| No-show | The customer never turned up. |
| Converted | Turned into a repair ticket. |
Actioning a booking
Confirming a booking, cancelling it or marking a no-show requires a staff PIN — the same gate every other repair write carries — and the booking records which staff member actioned it. See Staff PIN gate.
Confirming or cancelling emails the customer, provided the confirmation email is switched on. Marking a no-show sends nothing — it is an internal note about what happened, not a message to the customer.
Turning a booking into a repair
Start repair opens the ordinary repair intake wizard with the device make, model, customer name, phone, email and description already filled in from what the customer typed. Saving the ticket links the booking to it and moves the booking to Converted. From that point the customer's own cancel link no longer works — the device is with you, so cancelling is a conversation, not a click. See Create a repair ticket.
Who can see and action bookings
Reading the Bookings tab needs repairs.view; acting on a booking needs repairs.update. Both already exist — no new permission was added for bookings, so whoever works your repairs can work your bookings. See Access levels.
No deposit is taken and no card details are captured. A booking reserves a time and nothing else.
Bookings live in the Bookings tab. There is no Google, Outlook or iCal feed to subscribe to, so the tab is where you look.
